FLAT WIRE FOR WIND TURBINE GENERATORS

Many options are provided to designers for stator windings depending on the voltage class of the machine. Class 200 enamelled wire, enamelled Daglas covered wire, enamelled mica paper wrapped copper wire. Insulation of the stator wire is required to withstand humid conditions, long life of the insulation and good retention of flexibility properties over long ageing. For rotor winding flat enamelled wires with excellent windability and flexibility is of prime importance. Enamelled daglas covered wire is an ideal choice. For space constraints and thermal conductivity reasons enamelled wire made with solid dies offers a good choice.
